INTERNATIONAL BRIDGING PROGRAMS FOR FOREIGN-EDUCATED HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL

 

AIM:

Provide educational opportunities for medical graduates to advance their profession into Integrative Medicine and Natural Medicine.

 

PURPOSE:

Gear towards healthcare practitioners to expand their knowledge and expertise in the field of Integrative Medicine or traditional natural medicine for a new career path.

 

MISSION:

Provide an educational opportunity for international medical graduates or other healthcare practitioners in order to expand their scope of practice and become more marketable as integrative medicine healthcare professionals.

 

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Program goal is to provide an educational opportunity for International Medicine Graduates (IMGs) or other healthcare practitioners in order to expand the scope of practice and become more marketable as Integrative Medicine (IMD) or Natural Medicine (DNM) healthcare professionals. The scope of practice for IMD or DNM is non-invasive and utilized safe non-patent medicine, herbal preparations, homeopathic preparations and many other modalities. Integrative Medicine and Natural Medicine practitioners do not prescribe drugs or engage in surgery. Only integrative modalities as allowed in the scope of practice of Integrative Medicine are allowed.

 

Examples of some treatment modalities are: manual techniques, orthomolecular nutrition counselling, functional assessment techniques. The emphasis is on disease prevention and guiding clients to wellness.

 

The courses are designed to provide everything you need through a distance education format and must be completed within 3 months.

 

 

DURATION OF PROGRAM

Length of Program is 10 to 12 weeks mentorship by webinars and telephone conferencing. Study material will be emailed to you for future reference. Textbook list from Amazon.com is also available for reference but is not mandatory. Case studies at the end of Program are to be discussed and graded by your professor.

 

 

BOARD CERTIFICATION

Candidates will be required to complete the designated bridging courses. A mentor will be assigned to you and will provide guidance and support your growth and development. You will be asked to write a journey paper describing your journey and growth in Integrative Medicine or natural medicine.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Upon completion of this bridging program, you will receive a diploma in Integrative Medicine from the Canadian College of Humanitarian Medicine and be eligible for certification as a full member of the Board of Integrative Medicine (BOIM) or the Board of Natural Medicine Doctors and Practitioners (BNMDP).
